Life can throw you a curve ball. If you do not have a deadline on your novel, relax. Don’t rush to publishing. Take your time. If you are having trouble going forward, set your book aside for a week to three months. When you pick it back up, reread you story from the beginning. I found that I was able to catch a number of issues with my story and fix them. Improving my story and characters with a fresh eye; even rewriting whole sections.
